Bruer Burtenshaw Named Idaho Recruit Hub Week 3 Player of the Week
West Jefferson junior running back Bruer Burtenshaw turned six carries into a performance that caught the attention of fans across Idaho. After rushing for 169 yards and three touchdowns in Week 3, Burtenshaw was voted Idaho Recruit Hub’s Player of the Week.
Burtenshaw averaged 28.2 yards per carry, and each of his three touchdown runs went for more than 50 yards. He scored on a 55-yard run during West Jefferson’s second possession, then broke free for two more long touchdowns before halftime. His production came in limited playing time, as West Jefferson turned to its second-string backs for the second half.
He contributed beyond the backfield, too. Burtenshaw added a 15-yard kick return and, on defense, recorded three solo tackles, five assists and a forced fumble.
The Week 3 performance was part of a strong start to his junior season. Burtenshaw now has 628 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns, continuing to give West Jefferson a big-play threat whenever he touches the ball.
Fans backed up what he showed on the field. Burtenshaw received 184 votes on IdahoRecruitHub.com, the highest vote total for any Player of the Week candidate this season.
Congratulations to Bruer Burtenshaw, Idaho Recruit Hub’s Week 3 Player of the Week.
