Jace Dahlgren Named Idaho Recruit Hub Week 0 Player of the Week voted by you the fans.

EAGLE, Idaho — A new era began under center for the Eagle Mustangs in Week 0, and junior quarterback Jace Dahlgren wasted little time showing he was ready for the opportunity.

Dahlgren has been named the Idaho Recruit Hub Week 0 Player of the Week after leading Eagle to a huge 33-28 road victory over Highland in Pocatello. The matchup featured two of Idaho’s top 6A programs, with Eagle and Highland entering the season with high expectations.

For the 6-foot-4, 185-pound junior, the matchup also marked his first varsity start at quarterback after Eagle graduated three-year starter Austin Ramsey.

If there were any first-start nerves, Dahlgren certainly didn’t show them in his game play.

From the opening possessions, Dahlgren looked comfortable running the Mustang offense. He consistently got the football out of his hands quickly, made good decisions and delivered accurate passes that gave his receivers opportunities to make plays after the catch.

Dahlgren also did a great job spreading the ball around to Eagle’s talented group of playmakers. Sophomore Devin Ramsey was electric and finished with over 100 receiving yards, while three-star tight end Landon Bolt hauled in a touchdown and 6-foot-5 Aiden Kindrick made several big catches, including a touchdown of his own.

Dahlgren finished the night 21-of-30 passing for 197 yards and two touchdowns, while adding 53 rushing yards with his legs. His ability to make plays both from the pocket and on the ground helped Eagle generate enough offense to hold off a late Highland comeback and leave Pocatello with a statement victory.

The performance was especially impressive considering the environment. Highland entered the season as one of the top teams in 6A, and Dahlgren was making his first varsity start on the road against a talented Rams defense. Instead of simply managing the game, the junior stepped in and looked in command of the offense.

At 6-foot-4 with the ability to deliver the football accurately and quickly, Dahlgren showed plenty of tools to build on as the season progresses. Most importantly, he helped the Mustangs begin their 2026 campaign 1-0.

Replacing a three-year starter is never an easy assignment, but after one week, Dahlgren showed that the future of the Eagle offense is in good hands.

Week 0 belonged to Jace Dahlgren and his first varsity start may have been only the beginning.
